well as got no work to do today as its been canceled
i think i,ll go fishing and see if i can,t bag any pike or zander

im now going friday instead of today....

Well i am starting my baiting campaign for a new carp syndi water tomorrow. Its also thought to hold a few pike too so i am taking a couple of deadbait rods down in the hope of a run or 2 while i am throwing boilies about lol.

Finger crossed It may throw up a suprise or 2...i just hope they haven't started getting jiggy yet.

i believe tomorrow is the last Nott's PAC fish-in this season, and being totally honest i feel like hanging the rod up after this bash aswell, try concentrating on other coarse fishing such as feeder, carping, float, even 'specimen' fishing...

i'm very much tempted to give specimen fishing a go. Gerrys of Nottingham has offer on some shakey mach XT rods. all around £30 each, a pair of mach 1 xt 12ft 1.5lb specialist rods might even try specialised fishing for some perch!

mrmakk just because a rod is billed as a speci rod dose not mean you will or are going to catch specimin fish on it.
i use an anyfish anywhere lure and bait rod for livebaiting for perch and floater fishing for carp in summer.And that dose not have specimin on it lol just i bet you would have rods capable of fishing already you just want to spend which i cannot fault ? .

location tactics bait will catch not the fancy rod or reel?
if you want specimin perch live bait is best under a simple bober float with 1x treble size 4 through it's dorsal.forget lip hooking and single hooks (i have proved it ask adie )
this method also gets fish compared to loworm although lobbys are good livebaiting is king
lobbys are usually used by people who do not agree with livebaiting but poor old lobby must have feelings might even set up a campain about cruelty to lobbys lol

I have to agree with Kell there, Alex.

My 9ft leger rod has caught carp off the top with floating baits and also got pike out as well. I've even had a moment of madness and used my 3mt telescopic whip for stalking carp and had them up to scraper doubles. That WAS fun, if a little bit stupid if I'm totally honest.

I agree with almost everything Kell said there.

Disagree on the trebles for perch mind you but the rest was spot on.

possibly the last session for me this piking season on saturday. Im going to be on the lives on my private lake i think.

know doubt ill catch the pet again, but there defo 3 other 17lb+ fish in there......

With the rivers closing i will be out - just need to decide between the Swale and the Tees. Saturday morning....

might sqeese in a nother sessoin or two need to get to a water in the lake district a bit off pikefly fishing then might knockit on the head
