a big fat blank for pike
been to a trout water in nottingham they have allowed pike fishing for a trail period for 4 weekends
fished all day long and had a nice trout on a whole mackeral
moved my rods to another spot then a young lad dropped in on my peg and caught a 19lb fish about 15 minutes later
storey of my life.............never mind still enjoyed the new venue
will go back and try on the fly shortly

Re: Anybody Catching
sounds like our day on chew,we picked herons green bay to fish and were just unloading the van.fella pulls up and said he,d planned to fish where we were.i said try nunnery point as we,d planned to fish it but opted for this peg instead.anyway after a day of being pestered by trout,we blanked.fella drives back down the track and stopped to chat, informing us of 2 doubles caught and a 35lb er! gutted is not the word.got up early to fish nunnery next day but chew was hit by the storms and we didn't fish

Re: Anybody Catching
Bit late with the congrats.but well done craig, nice zed, would like one of those myself.Good stuff Jake,I often think some of us older ones would look better in photos with our heads missing .
I've had three short sessions in the last week, just two jacks of around 4lb last Wednesday,Fri.afternoon one fish of
10.1/4lb.and this morning a quick 2 hours on the drain produced a 9.3/4lb.and a 14.1/4lber.both caught tight under nearside bushes on popped up smelt.I got careless with the last one and ended up with a slashed thumb,a bloody mess but worth it.
Heres the 14lber.

Re: Anybody Catching
Well done Steve and aide, nice result lads. My first session today since December on the only bit of river fishable. Done my usual roving about, tried different baits and methods but never had a touch, still it was great to be finally out on the bank.....
