I hope we are going tonight for a few hours while the match is on, Just hope Jack the Lad is not on work placement this week, Just got to go the shops first and get some more OXO's Just in case haha

Went again tonight and had one Pike, Eddie took the pictures with my mobile it is 8mpl and has always taken good pictures, But when i went to download them from the phone they weren't there so i am at a loss,with this phone, is doin me edd in haha think i will just bin it and get a propper camera, I would have been well miffed if it had been a new pb haha, It did nowt but rain from about half five and it just battered it down, Very cold as well, Dont know whats happend to the british summer Used to be so nice, Ahh well,

I'm off to a new water tomorrow for a 2 night, 1 1/2 day session. 12 miles long, half a mile wide and set in one of the most remote parts of the country (north west Scotland) it's a bit daunting. The forecast is for 3 degree temperatures at night and rising to maybe 12 during the day (positively tropical eh?). Better pack the thermals.

Had 3 fish from Loch Alvie (20 miles south of Inverness) a few weekends ago - not huge, but at between 7 and 9 pounds they were most welcome.

Anyone else had any success up my neck of the woods? (west coast/Highlands of Scotland).

Well done on the 3 fish Richard, You are a brave man going out in those conditions as well, Hope you catch somthing that would make the camping out worth it, Strange to hear somone is going to be wearing thermals this time of year but its been colder than John Lennon of late haha,

Well done on the recent fish lads. My fishing has seen me going for species other than pike lately - i will go back to it, but i'm enjoying the change. Mind you, i had an estimated 1lb roach grabbed from my net by a river monster at the weekend; my 2lb line had no chance, and i've marked the spot for another go with deadbaits. In my experience, pike tend not to roam too far in rivers, so i'll be in with a chance. The thing that i'm loving at the moment is the options i have. I'm a member of 2 clubs, providing about 40 miles of river in total and i'm enjoying just walking half the stretches and learning about fishing the higher, middle and lower reaches. If there's anyone who limits themselves to stillwater only, i would highly recommend you give it a go.

Went to my new water between the 21st and the 23rd - yes Paddy, I did need the thermals (I slept in them on the Thursday night, then kept them on for the rest of the trip!)
Had a pretty good time - 8 fish including 2 doubles (10lb 10oz and 12lb 5oz). Lost at least 4 other doubles, one which jumped and threw the hook that looked around the 12 mark and another that just let go. When I struck that particular fish, I thought I'd hooked the bottom... big fish I reckon.
Missed a few runs too and had another few that were on, then off.
All in all a fantastic trip and I shall be going again - pity it's 100 odd miles away.

Pewwww Glad to hear there getting cleaned Richard haha,

Had another do down the Sluice while Jack was on the match,
Had one dead bait out and was playing with a lure between downpoors,
Eddie was having a try for Tench, For the Full report
