Well I got on the bank at long last ,out just over 6 hours, it was very good to be out after so long, the only down side is we did not get a sniff, not one knock, a big fat blank the river was not in the best of nick, still a lot of fresh water coming down, still if the weather stays settled it shouldnt be long before they are on the feed

estimation it takes about 2 weeks after the last snow has thawed for the pike to get properly back on the feed. I reckon the melt water has a big (negative) effect on the pikes appetite and general well being.

i'm off out tomorra also,
after afew weeks off...............................drove me up the bloody wall with all the bad weather,
local pit is still iced up, should be defrosted for nxt weekend , so it off to the local cut for afew hours, a nice 20 to 30 yrds stretch has opened up ,

main jist: after thaw it can take 4 weeks to return to better fishing.
: very HOT weather never very good either.
