[img][/img]Hunter wrote:Had a great day fishing on sunday beat my personal best with a 15.5lb pike then beat my new personal best with a 17.3lb pike also had a 9.8lb inbetween and 2 dropped runs. The morning went past with not even a nudge on smelt and lamprey so changed tactics at lunch and switched both rods to mackerel then the lake came alive and the runs kept coming. To make the best of it i was fishing on a small part that the ducks had kept free the rest of the lake was iced over and i was told the night before that it was not fishable just shows that if you dont give it a go you will never know. Will try and get some pics up soon as i can work out how to
17.3lb
15.5lb
9.8lb

Try not to stand up for pictures. Drop a fish from that height (unlikely I know but not impossible) and it's unlikely to survive the fall. On yer knees son....lol
Well done with the PB.

Just noticed the leech on the mat below the fish in that pic - just shows they've been laid up a while

Re: Anybody Catching
Well done with the PB mate. Lovely shape of pike too. Short and thick with long bills. Just the way I like them.
Wee bit pasty looking though (the pike, not you....lol) mind you.
What's the water like? Light bottom or are you maybe fishing over light gravel or something? They both seem very light in colour. Is that the standard for the water?

the water is a local drain, generally clear margin, weed lined both sides, the middle is mud/silt which is where ive been getting my runs...
i like the dark colour pike
