He can do all the rowing cos he's younger and fitter than me tongue

Mmm...... Adie, fishing and boats. A wise choice????? lol!

Well thats enough names for 6 boats with 2 to a boat so far If everyone on the list can make it Very Happy Very Happy

( just rang them and they may have a 6th boat if its not in use then it will be 5 boats as Rob said )

They did say they would be fine with 3 per boat so thats still up to 15 and we have 12 names at the moment so we should be ok Very Happy

No livebaiting and no motors and you can't take your own boats Rolling Eyes Sad ( looks like we will have to use one of their boats then Kell lol! )

Bad news I've just spoke to the boss at Hornsea Mere ( i spoke to a young lad yesterday as the boss was out for the day ) he said he doesn't take bookings for the boats as he likes to make sure there's some for the regulars to use but i did get him to agree to booking 3 boats maximum Crying or Very sad so that would mean a maximum of 9 of us fishing 3 to a boat ( might be a squeeze with 3 plus 3 lots of tackle )
Personally i don't fancy being squeezed into a small boat with all our gear Shocked
So what do we do now Question Question Question

That seems typical for the mere, really stuck in their ways..... I wouldn't mind but they do have a full fleet of rowing boats, they wont let us on in kayaks or for you to launch your own craft either, all tied up with the sailing club I'm afraid.

As the newbie here I don't mind sitting this one out.

Well, me and Gav are going to go regardless.

Been talking to him about it and (like me) he has 'booked' the day off from all house/DIY/wifey/kiddy duties in order to go to Hornsea Mere to fish for pike. So that's what we are doing.

Even if nobody else joins us, I'll be sure to add a report of the day's results (assuming there'll be a catch or two to report of course Rolling Eyes )

Having seen the weather forecast, Gavin and I have come to an executive decision about Hornsea Mere for tomorrow.

We aint going Embarassed

The thought of struggling to row in this wind and the fact it's going to be cold and wet has done it.

So instead we are going to a local lake and try our chances there. No rowing involved. tongue
