Sorry lads, been away carping (shhh) and ill for a couple of days...
Right then...I propose we do either:
26th or 27th Nov
4th Dec
or
10th Dec
Which of those dates suits you lads best?
Thats a decent pike out recently btw , just been reading on a carp forum someone had one out just short of 30 last Jan but didn't advertise it...hope it's true lol

Re: Hornsea Mere
I'd love to get in on this one too.
I'll let young Gav know about it as well.
He can do all the rowing cos he's younger and fitter than me
Mmm...... Adie, fishing and boats. A wise choice?????

Re: Hornsea Mere
Any more news on this Rob
Have you been in touch with them to see if its ok for us to have a fish-in and book all the 6 boats ( if we have enough to fill 6 boats that is )
We don't want to turn up and find theres not enough boats for us all
Are there any more of you interested in this

Re: Hornsea Mere
Well thats enough names for 6 boats with 2 to a boat so far If everyone on the list can make it
( just rang them and they may have a 6th boat if its not in use then it will be 5 boats as Rob said )
They did say they would be fine with 3 per boat so thats still up to 15 and we have 12 names at the moment so we should be ok
No livebaiting and no motors and you can't take your own boats ( looks like we will have to use one of their boats then Kell )

Re: Hornsea Mere
Bad news I've just spoke to the boss at Hornsea Mere ( i spoke to a young lad yesterday as the boss was out for the day ) he said he doesn't take bookings for the boats as he likes to make sure there's some for the regulars to use but i did get him to agree to booking 3 boats maximum so that would mean a maximum of 9 of us fishing 3 to a boat ( might be a squeeze with 3 plus 3 lots of tackle )
Personally i don't fancy being squeezed into a small boat with all our gear
So what do we do now
Adie
Re: Hornsea Mere
3 in a boat sounds a bit cramped. i dont mind bank fishing unless anyone can arrange something else quickly

Re: Hornsea Mere
That seems typical for the mere, really stuck in their ways..... I wouldn't mind but they do have a full fleet of rowing boats, they wont let us on in kayaks or for you to launch your own craft either, all tied up with the sailing club I'm afraid.
As the newbie here I don't mind sitting this one out.

Re: Hornsea Mere
Don't know whats happening about this fish-in as Tootalls not been on for a couple of weeks
Should we cancel it / postpone it / or move to another location
What do you lads think
And if we move any ideas where we could move to

Re: Hornsea Mere
Well, me and Gav are going to go regardless.
Been talking to him about it and (like me) he has 'booked' the day off from all house/DIY/wifey/kiddy duties in order to go to Hornsea Mere to fish for pike. So that's what we are doing.
Even if nobody else joins us, I'll be sure to add a report of the day's results (assuming there'll be a catch or two to report of course )

Re: Hornsea Mere
Having seen the weather forecast, Gavin and I have come to an executive decision about Hornsea Mere for tomorrow.
We aint going
The thought of struggling to row in this wind and the fact it's going to be cold and wet has done it.
So instead we are going to a local lake and try our chances there. No rowing involved.
