Not that good IMHO. I'd rather have a bucktail myself.

made some in the mid 90's
black/white
black/yellow
they caught nearlly every time out,
you can retreive them very slowlly along bottom, had to snag up with upturned hook.

p.s.
tried stingers, they were a waste of time, so don't be tempted?

thats one of pikings big misteries Noodle.

eg: my mate and i fish the same lures, same water sometimes casting to the same spot, he would allways catch more fish than me,but i allways ended up with the biggest single fish. this happened lots of times on avarage the ratio was 4 to 1 fish to him. Question

jeff your mate maybe keeping his hand on the ball (or is that eye) can never get that one right

i think confidance must have a lot to do with lures if you have more confidence in a lure would you use it more and therefore give it more chance of catching.

The variety of shapes and sizes of lure available means that everyone can a favourite all of their own and consensus on whether they are any good will never be reached. The bottom line for me though is that they catch fish regularly, stay relatively weed free, can fished at all depths, retreived very slowly through to top speed, they vibrate, have colour, in fact the only thing they don't do is the washing up. They are usually first lure on for me.

Really?...I mean....really? Read my 'Introduction To Perch fishing' article for ideas. Spinners are killers for perch.

I just don't get it. I can catch on spinners and bucktails but it seems that as soon as I try something which is basically a combination of the two, they just don't seem to work for me. I think I've maybe caught about 10 fish on spinnerbaits and most of them were in one session where the fish were hitting just about anything. I've heard so many different opinions on how they should be fished. Fast, slow, sink and draw, straight retrieve, mechanic, erratic....everything and believe me I've tried them all. I just cannot seem to catch on spinnerbaits yet loads of folk talk about them like they're idiot-proof.

How do you fish yours?....(that sounds like a cream egg advert).... Question

ANSWER to all the above is yes Andy.
i used spinnerbaits some time back when i did a lot of lure fishing , to be honest i would allways give them an outing and they never dissapointed.
i even made one up on the bank,no reason just bored,it caght within a matter of minutes.
when i cleared out (sold/gave away)my lure outfit the spinnerbaits where as hard to part with as my wooden lures.
the only lures in my possesion now are Ondex(cos they were the first i ever had)
happy lure fishing to all who carry on this form of piking Smile
