Re: Anybody Catching
been out yesterday (Friday) and today. got 4 out yesterday, a small jack a 6lb jack,
this at just over 11lb
" />
and this beauty at 21lb on the nose
" />
today was rather quiet, but i managed to get a 6lb jack out that i caught yesterday 200 yards downstream.
not a bad finish to my season, the best i have had in a long time.

Lots of Pike spawning in Ireland. I would rather watch them than catch them for the next couple of weeks., Looking forward to the lure fishing frenzy after they have finished though!!!!! Bring on April
Re: Anybody Catching
probably better to let them spawn in piece ...... it will be better all round for the fish as well as the anglerjames hannah wrote:bean on ken 2day. there r all in the bays now there r not that fat let. i wood say 2 or 3 weeks away letthe bat wrote:Have the pike spawned on ken? Always good to see a water recovering..... unfortunately my local waters never get a decent chance of flourishing due to ee's/noddys.

Know how you feel Mad Bad, ive also had my best season, 26 pike from 12 trips inc. 3 @ 17lb, and a river PB of 21lb and only 2 blanks as well.
i know there are some lads on here that have done much much better, but for me its been a great season.
Dont want to wish the summer away, but i cant wait till next autumn.

Been to two big waters this week, had fish to 18.15 from one and to 17.08 from the other. water temps were four degrees and five degrees respectively and the fish are nowhere near spawning.

Re: Anybody Catching
Not posted on here for a long time chaps so though i would share a few pics of this season. Hope you are all well.
So my main aim of this season was to get the Uncle & my father both in the 20lber club. All was looking that i would not succeed until the last few weeks of the month when i located a great hotspot. Over the course of the 3 weeks i banked around 9, 15lbers quite a few lower doubles and many many jacks. The good news came when my uncle banked his first ever 20lber weighing in at 20lb 14oz (Picture with Landrover) and then again i succeeded with my father also banking a cracking 21lb 12oz on the last day of the season. Both was that scared that i had to do the honours of the unhooking process. A great season had by all of us and looking forward to being out again in the depths of winter next season.
Oh because i dint get a 20 this season i thought i would pop in my PB of 28lb 12oz at the bottom of the thread.

Yes, minewater overflow from the Force Crag mine has destroyed Bassenthwaite, you'd be lucky to ctch a double there now. The mine is depositing three tonnes of zinc into the lake every year, there'll be nothing left soon

Some nice fish there. Just two more trips then will have a count up to see how I have done.
I have put some things up for sale if you all like to have a look.
