Re: Anybody Catching
Like low double mentioned. It's not all about catching the fish ! But let's be honest it's a great feeling when you've had the run , caught the fish and released it safely , isn't it ?

Re: Anybody Catching
Well I had 4 hrs this morning and blanked still nice to be out as there was a small gap between storms lol. Keep at them stubbo, God loves a tryer
Re: Anybody Catching
Been out today on a local canal with a good friend of mine I managed one in the first 10 minute but only about 6lb and then spend the rest of the day putting the world to rights until it was time to pack up and go our separate ways and as my mate was just pulling his bait in a pike of around 8 or 9lb took his bait it must have been sat watching it
enjoyed the day in good company though with a couple of jacks thrown in for good measure so not too bad
We did see the worlds longest and heaviest airplane ever built with a maximum take off weight of 640 tonnes. It also has the largest wingspan of any aircraft in operational service.
It was coming in to land at Robin Hood airport and was very low as it past over our heads it was HUGE

Re: Anybody Catching
How on earth does that thing stay in the air!!!!!!!!!! amazing. I remember my childhood, sat at Oldcotes watching the red arrows train overhead when finningley was doing the airshow.
Re: Anybody Catching
I went out with my daughter
We did 3 venues
First water took 4 hours to go round
Only action I got was a 5 to 6 pounder that snapped at a leaf stuck on my cables swivel whilst I was jerking the rod heavily to remove it
Half an hour in the car to the anti tank moat ( dug in ww 2 completely around antwerp it's 5 meters wide and 3 deep and it's in the middle of nowhere you never see anyone in beautiful suroundings) brave litlle jack hit a lure equal it's size but missed the hooks
And last location yealded no action what so ever
Big blanc but I got to go fishing so it was a good day

Enjoyed our latest pike quest today Adie,we seem to be doing quite well as regards our catch rate so far so let's hope it continues ... That Antonov cargo plane was awesome, my eyes were seeing it up in the sky but my brain was saying " no, that's just not possible "

Re: Anybody Catching
This very nice 17lb was the only highlight In a very bad weekend trip to Hereford
I missed fishing Friday because of traffic jam on the motorway. Saturday was heavy rain and gales I had one bite one fish. Sunday
I was going to fish the river but it came up two feet over night and running like a express train so back to the lake but no more fish.
on the plus side am nearer my twenty.

From what I can see psion , that's a 20 , it just doesn't weigh it yet !!! It's a long lean fish that surely will weigh around 20 in the spring . Well done mate .😀

Re: Anybody Catching
I have to say that its head wasn't in the right proportion to its body.

Re: Anybody Catching
Nice pike psion it saved the weekend for you :-) and its a lot better than my catch today
Re: Anybody Catching
Very long fish indeed Psion. Well done. I often wonder whether we do it wrong with weighing as apposed to length.
Re: Anybody Catching
had loads of fish like that over the years looks like there starved they have a head of a thirty .........could be poor quality water... who knowspsion wrote:I have to say that its head wasn't in the right proportion to its body.

Re: Anybody Catching
Maybe it was the picture but the fish looked in good condition it just had big head. This water as a lot of prey fish and has produced a thirty in the past. I am out again tomorrow.
