Its not to hard to be honest the awkward parts getting the arm to stay put in the lure

Re: Line gate clips
Drilling out was the hardest part without splitting the lure. Then it was just a case of adding a touch of epoxy an lining everything up.

Don't know why?
So found some old carp bobbins and butchered my fox indicators to take them.
Never looked back.
I had the same problem with the line gate clips not releasing. The alarm fell to bits in any case and I didn't replace it. I like fox mark ones, and still use them as drop offs, although the internal alarm doesn't work properly, so I use front alarms as the audible.

Thanks andy but not my idea mate it was tootall who found a pic of some a carper had done and he made a set. I loved them so made a set BUT I am not happy with them i love the fox line gate bar and cannot find any. The solar ptfe clips are crap for braid which i use ? It is just my preferance.
But i coated them in etex which was a pain but makes them very shiny and rock hard,
If you know anyone andy with some old fox line gates i will buy them of them to cannibalise
