Re: Anybody Catching
Nice fish went out myself saturday the weather was bad in North wales as well, 6 jacks up to about 9ib so it made up for being cold and wet.
Stubbo you might be on to something with your fast retrieve . I lived in Canada as a teenager, and had a couple of mates who were native indians they used to use a very fast retrieve with lures and spinners to catch Salmon they reckoned it annoyed the hell out of salmon ,and the salmon would take the lure /spinner out pure anger, and frustration, never thought of trying with pike though.

Re: Anybody Catching
eyes bigger than the belly springs to mind, it amazes me on how big a lure that both the pike (and perch from my experience) will happily take or have a go at.stubbo wrote: the pike didnt mind the big lures this was the smaller rubbers we used
I had a fish from the R.Trent last month, ans that managed to christen the replicant. it absolutely inhaled the 7'' rep, was glad that I chopped the single otherwise it would of been a task to unhook.
looking at the picture, have you removed the treble hook and just sticking to the built-in single?
single hooks on lures
it was straight out the packet that lure but from now on the treble will be coming off from now on
luckerly the single hook was attached and the treble was loose in the mouth will be getting more of them replicants in the bigger sizes

its a really nice stretch, saw kingfishers, Jays, Small greebs plus usual swans and in the past we have seen peregrins and woodpeckers.
So even when we blank its not too bad.
