Re: Anybody Catching
You're right Andy i really must start taking my camara
Usually just take a photo of the fish on my unhooking mat with my mobile when im on my own which isn't often but this was the best i've had from this water and yes i regret leaving my camera at home
must dig it out next time i go alone

Re: Anybody Catching
I've got a Samsung PL170, it's got a LCD screen on the front as well, got a quick change bankstick adapter so just put a bankstick other side of mat, if I catch I can set the camera to take two pics one at 10 seconds then another 2 seconds later pop it on the bankstick and just look at the screen and move to position easy

It's not a terrible photo though Adie. A little trim on Photoshop or something to square it up a little, centre it and maybe put a little border around it and it should be fine.

this is the new camera iv just bought, waterproof to 12m, dustproof, works to -10 temp, hd video, full of features and a ir remote control available for 26quid . the waterproof is especially handy cause for leaving your camera set up without worrying about the weather
move this this post if you like. just thought it was topical !

Re: Anybody Catching
when I take a snapshot and it comes out cloudy on the preview screen, I check the lense just incase there is a smudge/fingerprint mark on it. Usually a quick blow and wipe with the microfibre cloth does the trick....
if your going or on the market for a new camera, I can certainly reccommend the fujifilm referbished centre, if you just want a general point and shoot or a more advanced camera as I have recently ordered a S4000 bridge camera as a little something for myself, the service was excellent and the next day delivery at £10 is certainly worth that as i orderd 5 O'clock on monday afternoon and it came on the tureday morning! it even looks brand new!
http://shop.fujifilm.co.uk/refurbished-digital-cameras
i've taken some nice pictures with the new camera on the auto settings as I've still got a long and slow learning curve with the manual settings, I've found a couple of good photography sites and am slowing reading through them, will get the pictures up on the forum later.
nice pike anyway shame about it's sh*t on your leg

Re: Anybody Catching
If you have an android phone with a good camera you are half way there.
I have got the galaxy s2 that as an awesome camera.
There is an app you can buy for £1.79p that is called camera zoom fx.
It as a timer you can set up to 30 seconds but the best thing on this app is the camera can be voice activated.
When you are ready for photo shout take pic and bingo perfect self pic.
I bought a cheap camera cover stuck on the back of this a rubber bank stick rest.
Then put on this a quick release bank stick adapter(ebay99p).
When you need pic put phone in spare cover put on bank stick with quick realease adapter and you are all ready.
Review here.

Re: Anybody Catching
Was out Friday, managed to get this 12lb 7oz. And my mate got a 9lber.
Both very welcome fish as this season has been somewhat of a washout on the river.

takin a maggot feeder at the weekend too and will try catch a couple of livies.
saw pike striking out in the middle so hopefully the bait i chucked in (about 20 fish) will introduce them to sea deads.
watch this space m8 if not this year then deffo next. quite excited about it really, great challenge
gonna call it venue Z

Re: Anybody Catching
if your camera records in hd and you have windows 8 you can just record a video and use the snipping tool to get photos from the paused video

Re: Anybody Catching
Two fish from the River Barrow, south east Ireland. Both fish in the last seven days, had a few jacks too and a friend had another double...
