Anybody Catching

I was slow trolling (0.8mph) on the electric motor, trailing two 10oz dead behind the boat, and throwing lures at the same time. Nothing at all on the lures though.

Another beautiful Trout 4lb 1oz, they really are stunning creatures. But I wouldnt moan if a nice 30lb Pike came and tried to eat it whilst playing it lol lol lol I had 5 pike too but all small under 5lb. Great day to be out in the SUN!!!!

Well in
I had a frustrating day
My jerkbait got nailed 4 times but didn't manage to hook any
New water and they are cautious as all hel
They come in hard and fast but let go even faster
And a jerkbait needs slack line to glide well
So I was to late every time

I had a pike today about 5lb 75cm, come right to the waterwolf camera, drop back 10 feet and then after 20 seconds it took the roach lol. they arent having it hard just yet. When they are hungry they hook themselves Dave lol

6 landed today, and the best was nearly 1 meter but well spawned out,  might just have gone 12lb but the greenest and most vivid yellow Pike I ever caught,   I had some excitement also when a little jack was nabbed by her big sister and both slid into the net.   BOGOF  lol lol lol.

Nice one Andy, there seems to be only you and Dave catching at minute.

Now it pays of to be more mobile
It pays to go casting the last 2 hours of light they are most productive
So instead of a whole day you can spend 2 or 3 quick evenings a week
Landed me 8 fish and gave me a further 9 strikes that I missed
In about 10 hours angling time

Yes there are better times to fish, Morning and evening. But on these huge loughs if the wind is low then you take full advantage and fish all day. They are a sight to behold when the wind gets over 30kph I troll lures mostly when the water gets to 60F 15C. at the minute its only 50F and the fish arent really chasing yet, the big loughs 60 to 100ft deep take a long time to warm up, so the good fishing is yet to come. Well done Dave your getting amongst them now Come on Craig get your finger out and catch that huge zander!!!!!!

These are the lures I tried today Dave,  drying out in my spare bedroom lol.   Very poor results and as soon as I switched to deads very slow.  BANG  like hitting the light switch.

I have had that lure for about 5 years and never had a take on it.  it has very very loud rattles and i think that sometimes that can put them off.  My waters are generally very clear so natural colors work best mostly.  i wil give it more time in the water now dave and let you know lol.   And i am a geek and film all my lures underwater to see how they really react when trolled and jerked. The second video was a close call on the savage glide minnow, great actioned lure.  I am a very sad man i know  

If it has a really loud ratle that changes things I am not a fan of loud rattles either
It is similar to my favourite lure the westin jatte teeztail but that has a subtle rattle and many colour choices

One of those days !!!!!!   9 deadbaits with me,   11 fish landed and 5 lost,    best 103cm about 17lb and well skinny.  4 other doubles over 90cm too    Started to troll, cast and wobble lures for 2 hours,  and not a single touch.  It was just like turning off a light switch

It's the low double show at the moment 😀 I will have to pull my finger out. Well done mate 👍

Kettles on ready mate When you see how fast a decent pike turns and swallows a good sized bait, it just shows how an instant strike is necessary I know where she lives and I WILL BE BACK lol lol lol.

9 landed today and 4 of them doubles over 94cm,  best going 97cm to 15lb 4oz.   I even managed 3 on lures Dave including the Musky lure you predicted   Missed a few too which is par for the course.   The weather was unreal,  sun then sleet,  then hail.  Summer!!!!!!!!   Yes right lol.







I forgot the boat unhooking mat,  so sorry the fish is on the floor,  it took 10  seconds and never flipped so all safe,  not good practice but I just loved the proportions.  She will be a big Girl some day

Don't know if I will be doing any piking for a while although I do have some deadbait that needs using up so I might just get a day or two before it gets too warm 😊 😊
