very nice ...well in palpiketastic wrote:I haven't had much to shout about this season , so been relatively quiet. So here she is from yesterday.
looks in tip top condition too......

Stunning colours there. Love the orange in the fins, and just the right side of twenty as well. Well done!

Well done all those catching some nice looking end of season Pike. I've put the Pike gear away now until October and have turned my attention to the big Bream that reside in a club water that I'm a member of - my target being a 12Lbs+ Bream. Come June, I'll be after Catfish from another clubs waters, interspersed with the Bream fishing.

Re: Anybody Catching part two
I finished my season with a jack yesterday. I have had 30 trips out - caught 64 pike from 10 different venues, biggest only 15lb and blanked
7 times.
Considering the weather and a knee problem I can't complain. In some ways I am glad it's over as it has been hard work at times.
I will be out in the boat over the next two months chasing big trout, which will be my last boat season as I will be selling it in the summer.
Sorry to hear that you have not been well, Adie, hope you will be better for next season.

Re: Anybody Catching part two
Yesterday was my last trip of the season actually targeting pike. It started off well with 2 runs and 2 fish , long lean jacks of around 8 pounds each. But that was it .
I scraped the ice off the car that morning, then sat fishing in beautiful sunshine, more akin to carp fishing before hailstone and then rain made me pack up. I wasn't feeling it .
I don't know what's going on with this weather 😀
So my next trips will be by design and I will be targeting the midlands canals. There's a double figure Zander waiting for me somewhere, I'm sure of it. . . . . Last year when I targeted them though , 6 trips , 6 pike in a row and no Zander was enough to make me put my rods away. ( one of the pike was 22 anall 😉)
Anyway Zander here I come.
Good luck you lot !

Re: Anybody Catching part two
the lough is 1780 acres, so finding them is a problem lol, but trolling miles and miles in the spring sunshine is not too much of a headache lol, I want a 15 now
Re: Anybody Catching part two
Nice fish I tried to catch a big trout on Saturday but no luck. I have put my boat on here for sale If anyone wants to have a look.

Hahaha! That's a monster - what was the weight? Or is it too painful to share that detail!

Re: Anybody Catching part two
I honestly thought she had beaten my PB and was ready to throw her overboard lol, 8lb 14oz of truly wild fish, fatter than my 10lb 5oz but 4" too short lol. fought like a demon and went back fine. she had a 7lb pike and a 2lb jack too. I blanked J
