Managed a quick 1 hour session for perch and landed this pb smallest pike lol

tiny pike are cute...like puppies

was that up at the syndi mate? just reminded me i still need to post the BB- sorry mate i promise you will get it soon. worked a 70hr week so far and still got fri and sat to do...! my heads up my arse at the minute.

No mate it was from my local lagoon il be hitting the synod this weekend hopefully

No rush for Bb mate as long as I've got it for deadbait season I'm happy lol

had a session on trent after work trying my new gear out.... and already having results, Kamikaze perch attacking the orange foil bait i had, never banked but a good day as the trent was clear as gin so i could see all the daredevils........

had quite a few perch today on the ul set up loving the snap beans

had a short session on a local water with the fly rod had a few jacks and lost a good one........but still........good fun

Well i managed a few hours out this morning with my brother my heart was set on deadbaiting but the weather just seemend wrong this morning quite warm so i grabbed the ul kit and set off for the canal. After the perch me and our kid must have spent hours walking that stretch of canal constantly working for the fish and few nips but no hookups on the kopyto's strange really they never usually let me down on there. So a quick rumage through my boxes (at this point i had nothing to loose) so grabbed 1 of the ul frogs and our kid was wetting himself the usual banter its winter not summer carry on second cast bang perch on the smug grin on his face fell to the floor
the victory dance was straight after the feeling u get when u beat a sibling at somthing truely priceless even more so when he asked if he could use my spare frog lol

oh well hopfully next week there should be a better blog fingers crossed

Had a quick afternoon's session with some new kit......... I felt in a bit of a p*ssed off mood this morning so I though I'll brave the weather and a bit of fresh air will do me good. Well the air was certainly fresh... the wind was up and the gusts were almost knocking the rod out my hand whilst I'm attempting to cast.. it all calmed down for a good couple hours, and it helped too. I was really having fun with the new rod and reel, the casting requires little more than the flick of a wrist. with a bit of patiences, discipline(lost a lure to a tree) and concentration the lures were hitting the water right where I wanted. After walking & casting down a stretch of the canal, I headed back up to my starting point stopped of at a peg that has produced in the past and well.... you won't believe it!



First cast with a 'Bill Lewis Rat-L-Trap' in silver shad pattern, I thoght i caught an underwater snag (with all the wind causing debris) but no, a nice jack of 4lb took off with a attitude of a bull. My heart was racing due to a few facts.......
- First fish of the new year,
- On light lure tackle
-On a brand new lure that i have never used........
my heart was piratically beating like a mouses....... my drag was set spot on and the fish was soon in the net....
