anybody catching

well didnt manage a 30, but came home a very happy man. saw a 38 caught on a lure massive fish. my boat partner kev had a 3ilb 6oz fish and i had a 15 on the first day.

saw a few fish get caught from the bank while we were in the boat so decided thats were we would fish on the second day from the bank.
when we got there nige williams was in the first peg and had a 30 5 20's and 3 doubles
so not being one to miss a trick i set up behind him and waited for him to move. not allowed to night fish chew so spent the night under the brolly and waited for dawn.
cast out about 6.30am, nothing much happened till 8 when 2 guys a bit further down had a couple of mid doubles then a 20, kev then had 1 around 6lb, at 9.30 my alarm sounds after a short fight this limp ends up in the net

24lb on the dot and a new pb. was the only run i had all day. later on the blokes down from us had a 30 from the bank as well.

Still a good result mate and I admire you dedication spending the night under a brolly in this weather.

Well done Gaz on your new pb makes it worth all the miles you travelled and spending the night under your brolly hope it was warmer down there than its been here

when we got to Bristol Sunday night it was 6'c no snow or frost. Monday night dropped to 2 so still not bad, in fact 50 miles down m1 didnt see any snow.

Martin Bowler has just had a 29-10,It realy is a case of which fish picks up your bait.

not this time thought i'd be different and got it on 1/2 a mac

you did well on your first trip mate is it a vast water how did know where to begin on such a big water is it just sea deadbaits only mate heard they check your bags for coarse fish baits

yes check all your bait bags before you get on the boat. seabaits only no lamprey but smelt ok. even when bank fishing they come and check your bait, even make you wind in . first day on the boat the bloke i went with had been before and had a fish finder. so went out and fished an area he fancied in 28' of water not a touch in 3 hours. could see anglers on walley bank getting runs, so went closer and fished in 18' of water. thats when i had the 15 and mate had 31. so next day when we was on the bank we justed headed for the walley bank and got in the first pegs we came too. baits cast around 50yds into 12' of water, mate had a 6 and me a 24. couple of guys further down had some jacks, couple of doubles a 20 and a 30.

Cheers guys, it's been slow for the last few weeks so was well chuffed to land her.

Out today. 4.00am start, Weather good,plus thaw in progrees
Had 6 runs, and no fish on bank. Bloody gutted.
They were taking the bait, just didn't seemed to run with it,
Even got to the point of letting it run, but then you got the DANGER of deep hooking which I hate, size 4trebles, never had problems, half mackerel, they seem to like that bait, only plus, it wasn't just me, there were a few lads fishing who were saying the same..

Anybody had this happen, or suffered this lately

yes happened to me a few times in the past welsh piker but after change of tactics ie small hooks and bait i found they were very small pike ie 1lb or so in size

I took my Daughter fishing for the first time this season, and yes she kicked my ass!!! a PB for her too at 14lb 12oz. Well done Girl She missed a run too but she blamed it on the wind
