Anybody Catching part one

Sorry Psion, I saw the post and just presumed someone had quoted your last 23lb capture as I recognised the fish and swim lol. Very well done mate. Now heres a tale of frustration!!!!!!! ive been hitting a certain water fairly hard for 10 years or more and at 4000+ acres it takes some working out lol. ive had loads of 20s both guiding and myself, and the brace of twentys 3 weeks ago came from there 26lb 10 and 20lb 4. now I thought the water had reached its limit with a fish of this size WRONG. 2 friends of mine in seperate boats had a 32 and a 34 on the same day last weekend. Where oh where have I been going wrong

Well Andew !!! If you are doing it wrong , then I'm afraid it's time for all us lot to pack in because if you are doing it wrong and catching what you catch, then we've got nowt to come .
Go and catch them pal - you know it makes sense !

Very good day on the trout water today. Finally broke my blank on the pike there - it's been about a month since I had my last one there. Lovely little fish of 7lb 12oz.

Most of the day was on the pole bagging roach - had about 300 (again, if anyone needs pike bait!) and a 5lb 12oz brown trout that took nearly a quarter of an hour to land. Size 24 hook and 4lb line means taking it easy. Lovely fish and the hardest fight I've had since I was a kid fishing for carp with tackle much too light for the task:



The amusing thing was that in switching between the pole and the pike rod, out of about 10 anglers I had the largest fish of the day, the second largest, the highest number of fish and the heaviest bag!

I caught the baby of the bunch again today lol.  not too bad when it over 18lb lol.  He had another 20lb 12oz.  Golden balls for sure  

Two more belters there bud I don't think we have any like that left round here

Tiddler of a pike yesterday (5lb 4oz) but had to work hard for it. On the pole for roach all day and four times over the course of the day, the pike in question rattled my keep net. It's quite exciting to see even quite small pike when they are at your feet and trying to barrel roll their way through a keep net to get to roach. Later on managed to get it to take a float fished (on the bottom) 7" roach but it spat it out almost immediately. Then, several hours later, it took a float fished (this time suspended 2ft from the bottom) 4" roach, twitched.

As I said, only a small fish, but a lot of build up and work to get it into the net. Beyond that, had a good session on the pole (well 3.3m whip) with two brown trout just under 5lbs (plus one around 6-7lb that got off the hook) and a rainbow and a blue trout (each just over 2lb) and 200 roach.

200 Roach the pike must be getting fat in there.

We were out yesterday we had three jacks and one 11lb. This is a picture of my new to four wheel electric trailer.

Give them time - they've not been in there for too long! The ones I've caught seem to have grown about 10% in the past 3 months.

Well if ever there was a day to remember,  it was today!!!!!!!!   3lb    3lb    4lb   5lb   14lb 12oz   15lb 10oz   16lb 12oz   15lb 13oz   16lb 80z   18lb+  22lb 15oz  25lb 6oz   and missed one lol.  Happy days. lol.  worth Rremembering  for  sure.
