blankety blank. blankety blank
had one big fantastic blank today and not got an excuse for it like too cold , to warm , to bright, to dark, to windy, to still, not to mention the moon phases they just wasnt having it tried everything possible , apart from live bait even had a float rod out waggler and maggots not even a bite on the maggot.
There were a few other pike anglers there all blanked as far as i know the conditions where spot on but sadly no fish ha ho.
but enjoyed the day out had a good chin wag with a few local lads who put me on to another pike water worth a go

Big blank today on a difficult river. It was up 2ft but the slacks were more than fishable. Good to be out though

Re: Anybody Catching
As both my rivers are well out of sorts, and a little dangerous,I decided to have the afternoon on a local drain.Arrived at midday got both rods in position and as I set my chair up the first rod in the near margin was away.A nice 10.5lber in the first 5min.Must have got lucky with that as had to wait while 3pm for the far bank rod to go,a fish of around 6lb.
An hour later the far bank rod was away again,a popped up roach deadbait in only about 3ft of water had been taken by something a bit hefty. After a short plodding around sort of fight a 21lb 4oz lump was on the mat. After quick self take, which didn't come out that bad for me ,it went back strongly.I didn't bother casting that rod out again and started to pack up,the margin rod was away again as I did this and I landed a nice 12.5lber.
Came home well pleased with my 4 and a half hours on the bank .
Heres the best of the day.

Re: Anybody Catching
Thanks for the comments guys, I'm a bit baffled by jims last one though "love fish that plumb" .I know I'm not the smartest, but I'm quessing it's an anagram of something,I've come up with "flattish love hump" .
Anyway, back to reality.I had the afternoon on the drain again today, different area to yesterday, and blanked,so what a difference a day makes.Being out of work is a big worry but at least I can get some piking done, think I'll go again tomorow .
