Well in everyone here the fish are ready to spawn and ignore lures

Yesterdays just had a jack.

We've had some cracking pike photos posted recently well done to all that have had the good fortune to catch some lovely fish and I hope to see one or two more before everyone packs their pike gear away for this season  
I was out yesterday using some jack pike dead bait I managed to get from baits-r-us online
I've never tried jack pike before but have always fancied trying them as I have heard from quite a few pike anglers how good they are as bait
Well I must have picked the wrong place and day lol because I was sat watching my rods doing sod all all day  oh well i'll just have to try again wont I

I've only used jack pike once and got my pb with it. Never bought them before due to being unable to get em, it was floating by my swim dead so thought I'd give it a go

Can't seem to find them on the website now Adie, I'm guessing they've sold out.

They list them as and when they manage to get them !
It's worth checking them now and then to see if they have any
I have to say the bait I got from them looked as if it had just been frozen and all good sized 😉

I blanked too Adie, all good anglers have bad days lol. I have had 2 x 20s this season on jacks about 10oz. I lift the IFI gill nets and take a few small deads every spring, and save them for the next season. (They just get thrown into skips!!!) So I think its better to put a few back into the food chain. Couldnt kill one though

I got an order off of them last year and everything was spot on.

Yet another Blank    Stunning day to be out though so not all bad.   The lough i fished today is over 100ft deep,  and mostly 50ft nearly everywhere,  Is just reaching 6 degrees C and up pops a free swimming jack thats at least 21 days old.  Some Pike must have spawned when the water was only 4 degrees.  Nature knows best lol.

I love that picture pal - met up with Adie today on a little pond , good natter and nice to get out, 3 little uns between us . So all in all a good day.

Its not all about catching fish, sometimes the banter between friends is what makes our sport so enjoyable. I must admit that the 12lb 12oz beauty i caught today made me smile though lol. I hate blanking

I was out yesterday. Nice day but no fish, I had one droped run.

They certainly aren't having it at the moment Psion are they. I watched my waterwolf footage today and a mid double Pike, followed and swam around my drifter fished trout for 1 minute and 52 seconds, before swimming off She was constantly gulping and flaring her gills as if tasting the water. Great to see though lol.

Well I was out yesterday for my last pike session of the season.
I had 10 takes but only managed to bank 2 fish both jacks around 5lb.
But not a bad season in all, I went out 16 times, Banked 39 fish, 11 of them were doubles and the largest was 17lb 10oz. And only had one blank
The pike tackle is now away, and I will be dusting off my float and carp tackle soon, I'm planning on targeting my local lake this summer for tench, bream and carp.

Great season mate, Ive fished more than you by far, and had way more blanks too lol. I love the Tench and am itching to get at them. another fortnight yet.

We went night fishing yesterday 6 rods 12 hours not a fish. Going up to Scotland next week if I blank there I will be suicidal.

I took my little Pal for a day chasing trout as his PB is about 6oz and he fancied one a little bit bigger lol.   Slightly upped it today to 3lb 7oz.   I blanked

99% catch and release Dave. I go to a stocked rainbow water if i want a table fish. If one wont go back alive then i certainly wouldnt waste it though.

Just got back from Scotland we caught 7 jacks so I didn't blank. One more trip next week then its packing away

We are having one more trip on the 31st March but I think that most people have already packed up there are not

a lot of post at the moment.

Well done in scotland Psion. I havent given up just yet. I like to give them a few weeks and dont target the spawning areas. April is a lure month where trolling is fantastic sport so i will hopefully be posting a little more then. This week I will be back out for the Trout:D

I haven't given up just yet either , would love to post us a picture of one more big one before mid April. Then I'm going to have a little go at some zander, hopefully targeting my first double .
