They are really good photo's too!
Patch looks delighted (who wouldn't be with that fish!) & the Pike is in great condition, its fins etc.. are all intact & it is unmarked anywhere..

Re: Anybody catching?
As above lol
The island is a new personal best after the barge
But apart from the good laugh we had !!
Well what a waste of time This is a **** place Don't even think of going there its nothing like he claims on the website
Two of us on a boat covered the whole lake and not even seen a sign of a fish
And it wasn't just us there was two other boats out plus others fishing from the bank and no one had as much as a run
We got there at 7.40am and it was shut we thought there would be someone there as they say they do a breakfast
Well we got set up as soon as someone opened up and ask far some advice on were to fish methods and such and he didn't have a clue he only know a little about trout fishing
we get out stuff loaded on the boat and set off heading towards one of the islands ( as he said it would be a while before we could have any food and we were starving ) we thought the motor was a bit slow getting us out But it was even slower getting back The livebait were pulling us faster than the outboard as the battery was flat Not a good start Anyway we thought get a breakfast down us and we will feel better
Not a chance he only had enough bacon to do 3 sandwich's which were with plain white bread and only just enough bacon to taste it
anyway off we set again with a new battery fitted We covered the whole lake as did the others on the boats and not a bite between us all
It is a dump i wouldn't go again if you paid me A very disappointing day

Re: Anybody catching?
I privately contacted Phil Kirk, former Notts PAC RO & local piking legend!
He has fished this water (along with Chew, Mentieth, Grafham, about every Trout reservoir in Wales & Ireland & Scotland ) He described it as a "Past its best Trout Water" & I asked him if he would recomend it to me..... not really but he said I could do worse..
Sorry you had a poor day, sounds like you managed to enjoy yorselves, though.
Didn't Brookie come..?

Re: Anybody catching?
You could have told us before we went bazz i love hindsight.
I must admit we had a good laugh especialy when the guys caught the blokes on the banks line and for one moment he thought he had hook a whale and struck. And i swear the bloke on the boat turned the speed up to try and pull away from the snag me and adie just turned and creased up.

Re: Anybody catching?
Oh well gents it is official, I am no longer a Pike virgin............ I went out armed with a few lures this afternoon and am proud to announce that I was rewarded with two young Pike for my efforts, meaning that I can now add this fine species of preditor to my catch log as well!!!
- Many thanks to Noodle for all his assistance, guidance and patience.
PS. I have scrutinized the photo's prior to posting them and feel that there are no identifying landmarks which would give the venue location away - please advise if you guys think differently.
