I started the season hoping to up my total to 40X20s and its looking like the 50th wont be too far away. I am in heaven boys truly!!!!! Feel free to ban me Adie lol lol lol It would be a great season, never mind a weekend. I am back for more tomorrow so keep an eye out for a blank lol. Craig, save some time and just put a £5 in the jar lol. Happy man tonight☺

Re: Anybody Catching part one
absolutely incredible fishing pal ....well inlowdouble wrote:I am sorry to post yet again lads, you may be getting a little fed up of hearing about foreign fish. But there is another story to tell day 3 of an unreal weekend. carlsberg fishing if ever there was such a thing New swim to me but the same run of luck. I took a lad out for the day and told him it could be hard as the wind had changed to an East gale lol. Anchored in the swim and was pleasantly surprised to get a 16lb stunner in the first 10 minutes. shortly followed be a 7, and a 9, (all mine Greedy git), one hour later I saw my drifter float just do a little jab down about an inch and said "here we go" he gave me a wry smile and called me a very bad name lol. Away it went and was followed by a dour slow tug of war, not doing much but feeling heavy she soon slid over the net and was yet again 25lb + Whats happened to me lol. Dont worry I managed to get him a 15lb fish later I missed 2 as well. Never to be repeated!!!!!!!

Good grief man! Does it have a Spirit of Ecstasy on the front?
*(very jealous - I have a very fine, but very 1970s Norwegian fibreglass number, a piffling 13ft x 6ft, with a not to be sniffed at Shakespeare electric motor on the back! )

Re: Anybody Catching part one
You dont need a fast boat to catch Pike Lorano lol Ive a 10ft I love fishing from .
Anybody want another boring fish story lol.
Wagged work today as the weather looked perfect for drifter fishing, constant slow winds and all the same direction. well 4 hrs into the session I had managed to miss 4 takes and thought well thats it my luck has finally ran out I up anchored and motored a mile up the lough to try swim number 2. Well it was like night and day I never managed to get three rods in the water at the same time lol. In 15 minutes I had a 7, a 9, a 13 and yes another 20 at 23lb 8oz and managed to miss 2 more UNREAL, and from a different water yet again!!!!!! Never ever ever have I had a season like this it slowed off for an hour and then through the afternoon I managed a 7, 11, and a 15lb 12oz stunner too. I can not believe this is happening to me. 10 twentys this season and 8 in january lol. i can not wait for tomorrow as Feb is my favourite month
Absolutely stunning fish

Re: Anybody Catching part one
Not a mark on her craig, I bet shes never been in a net in her life before. wild waters, wild pike☺☺☺
Re: Anybody Catching part one
Sounds like the water your fishing is stuffed full of pike mate!
All on the drifter?
I'd be happy with just one session as good as one of yours for the whole year!
And you need a fast boat when the loch is 24 miles long!😂

Re: Anybody Catching part one
The lough I fished last week was 29,000 acres lol 16 miles by 6.5 miles. theres no point motoring fast and catching nothing Ive 3 boats 10ft 17ft and 19ft, just use the right one for the right venue . Most of the fish are in 5% of the venue, knowing that area is the key☺ Its taken me 18 years to learn where that is (maybe) with hundreds of blanks. time is the only thing stopping us all from catching 30s
all but one came on the drifter float today. Anchor off the shelves and drift baits over them, pike will come up 20ft for a descent sized bait 8oz or more.

Re: Anybody Catching part one
swapped today for thursday when the weathers shit lol. effort equals reward sometimes lol. Ive had 5 seasons with just one 20lb + fish, this year ?Ive had 8 in 3 weeks. Luck I tell you, pure luck
Re: Anybody Catching part one
Very lucky to have the waters around me. Believe me they arent hard caught, not like pressured fish in the UK, brutal strong tackle and time is all thats needed over here. 60lb trace wire and size 2 hooks, never been caught before fish, Time on the bank makes the difference here☺
