went there as planned today..... got the owners number so all i need to do is ring up a couple of days before to let him know how many pegs i want reserving, at the minute he's put the entire west bank of no.3 pond (8 pegs) on reserve for us for the 7th.

There is a write up on Dacre Lakeside Park, Brandesburton, East Yorkshire in the current Anglers Mail, I'm assuming this is another venue?? Dacre is being plugged as a Pikers venue (It will no doubt now get hammered!)
My Tidal Trent event is late February so MAYBE? I can make it here?
Will let you know closer to the time...

yes mate it is a totally different venue..... let me know as soon as you can if you do want to come... i HAVE to give a couple of days notice to book the pegs, and dont worry if theres more than 8 of us in total, there is another 2 pegs available for no.3 pond and also another 2ponds to go at too so plenty of room!! if we get enough definite people i.e. 10 or more i might see if i can split it down the middle with one half of us on one pond and the other half on the next one so that we're not shoulder to shoulder

Re: Barton, Lincs Fish-in
well despite all the tak of sightings of fish spawning i'm not cancelling..... i think some of it may have been pike feeding ravenously with the warm spell just before last weekend triggering them. the reason i say that is i have never known pike spawn before mid-march round here and last saturday i did have more runs than i expected considering previous experiences fishing this venue while using deadbaits (i normally get 1 or 2 runs there but i think i totalled 5 on sat)........ its just a shame i missed alot more than normal and got those 2 dropped runs on my float ledger!!
hope none of the spawning talk has put you guys off because i'm just not buying into it happening all over the country while the weather is still so cold.

Put me down, I will fish the Notts PAC event on the 28th on the tidal Trent (trying to break the Trent Pike jinx!) but not the other Notts PAC lake event on March 7th.. I will come to this one instead.. Alex, are you coming along....?
Alan & I are not having as many PAC fish-ins next year, one or two members are not keen on them.

must agree with rob on this one, every water is differant, depths, wind patterns[positions of waters like shallow bays at north, east south, west ends.sand/graval silt beds.all must have something to alter fish spawning at differant times.think fish spawn earlier down south than further up north?winds ect main one

Re: Barton, Lincs Fish-in
knowing these waters pretty well and from past experience, i think we should be ok. If the spawning patterns of the past few years are anything to go by then it'll be 'game on' hopefully.
Looking forward to it - anyone up for some of the best fish and chips around after the fishing? Great f+c shop up the road in brandesburton

8 sounds good to me. Meeting in Brandesburton is a good idea i think nightwatchman. They're not the easiest of ponds to find lol
Whats the deal with pegs - pull em out of a hat or something to make it fair?
There are fish all over these ponds but as with most waters some are more productive than others and i think it would be unfair to anyone thats not fished it to turn up and find all the good pegs taken...
...mind you if no one's up for that i'll happily meet you there and i'll have a really early start...lol

Re: Barton, Lincs Fish-in
Well looks like there's 9 of us up to now and if I'm not mistaken there are about 9 pegs on no.3 pond?
If more arrive Rob could book another pond or we could maybe see if the 2 or 3 pegs on no.2 pond nearest pond no.3 (short walk) are free on the day without booking?
Regarding picking pegs it could be more fun if we drew numbers out of a hat.
By that I mean......................
Number the tickets 1 to 9 then if you pull no.1 out of the hat you get 1st choice of the swim or if you get no.6 you get the 6th pick of a swim and so one.
Just might add to the fun of the day but up to you lads or maybe Rob can choose how it's done as he's gone to all the trouble to organise it.

gawd does that mean i have to do even more work???
i think i'm going to split the pegs between the 2 ponds but i dont know i'm tired and confused
i'll figure it out guys..... more than likely draw pegs but i'm not sure how i'm going to work (oh theres THAT word again lol) it yet.
