Re: Barton, Lincs Fish-in
I was in the area today so I popped into farmers ponds to see how they were looking. Bad news! They were all iced over again! Hope they ok for the 7th?
By the way..... There's 8 pegs on pond no.3. There's a 9th but that would mean 2 fishing in the same swim. Lol !

Re: Barton, Lincs Fish-in
i've looked on the met office site earlier and its warming up towards the end of the week so ice shouldnt be a problem....... i'm going there on sunday so by the end of the day i should know whether they've spawned or not.
i know that this sunday was one of the possible dates for the fish in but i've only just figured out that i can go (i got my wage slip lol).
of course anyone is welcome to come along this sunday if they wish but the main forum fish in is still going ahead on the 7th..... i think it would be unfair to change it at this short notice as i am already aware that some of you have made other plans.
can everyone (who hasnt already done so) please confirm their attendance for the fish in by thursday 4th march so i can ring up the owner and let him know how many pegs we require when i get home from work on friday.
thanks guys, best regards and see you all on the 7th

Re: Barton, Lincs Fish-in
My colleague at work John gave me some depressing news...........I'm fired at the weekend!
Only kidding.....
He reckons a forecaster is predicting the current weather depression will last through to early April
I'll pass the razers around......so we can cut our wrists!
I'm hoping he's wrong

Re: Barton, Lincs Fish-in
well alex if you get the wrong peg you may find it quite snaggy (theres a couple of sunken trees which i will point out to people who draw those pegs)
but pulling birds? nah and bad weather? i hope not lol

The last thing we want is you collapsing and falling into the pond. (you'll scare our fish off! lol )

Why not leave your tackle at home and just bring a chair. Then you can spend the day under our brollies with a nice hot brew and tell us all your piking secrets! Lol

It would be a shame if you had to sit and watch everyone pulling all the pike out

Might as well have a rod in the water then...lol
I don't know about anyone else but i'd feel more ill if i was sat watching other people fish
In all seriousness though rob it'll be good to see you, but don't force yourself out if you don't feel up to it mate

Re: Barton, Lincs Fish-in
thanks again for your comments lads.....
tbh it would be pointless if i was there without rods in the water... if it was a day out wreck fishing off whitby or even beach fishing i'd just be watching purely because of the physical intensity but i think i can manage piking

Can you lure fish all the lakes when you've bought a day ticket? I fancy keeping mobile next Sunday.
