Hi Stubbo I live in Lancaster and I have fished a lot on the lakes. The boat is ready to go now just needs a wash
so when weather improves we could try Windermere. I have to say I have never caught that much my biggest
only 16.5lb its a big lake and you have to put the hours in to get best from in.

Re: Anybody Catching
well guys i was out today on my local nature reserve and came home mega pissed off.
i was only going for a short session so only took a few baits with me (mistake ).
so after losing bait after bait hooking up on submerged lillies i was left with 1 herring and a small roach, my confidence was gone and by this point i was expecting nothing from the day.
i decided to give it twenty minutes more so out the rods went.
the herring rod was put just in front of an overhanging tree ( obvious feature i shouldve fished earlier) and within a minute or two just as i turned round from watering the plants all i seen was water rings circling from where the float should have been and i struck in to a good fish,,
but after a short battle a massive open mouthed head shake about ten feet from the bank released the mid double back to its watery lair,,,, and i was left a beaten man
note to self,,,, always take more bait than you will need,,,,,, and never ignore obvious features

Re: Anybody Catching
nipped out this morning for a couple of hours with no luck,,, local nature reserve didn't look that fishy the lillies have came on a lot quicker than I anticipated. I think I will have to get down with the weed cutter before I fish it again.
its such a shame this lake has some good fishing to be had with pike and a lot of big commons but is left to its own devices and over the years the lillies have took over .

was out for the second time this year yesterday at a new water and not a sniff, first blank iv had for about a year, im thinkin that the pike switch off for a while after spawning, im guessing that they've spawned already.

Re: Anybody Catching
I had a couple of lure anglers over from France last week for three days. On their first day they had 52 Pike upto 97cm (14lb). They had spawned and were very very hungry lol. They fished 2 other venues and had 7 and 6 respectively. I went back 3 days later and had 3 tiny jacks. Either I missed the frenzy or I am Shite lol lol lol.
Re: Anybody Catching
