Went out to test my new toy today


What a piece of kit well pleased
Got baptised too caught 2 first was 60 cm and I unhooked it in the water
Second was better

Well the water has finally hit 15C and that's my cut off and start point for the season. It usually occurs late April but this spring was incredibly cold so the season lasted longer I fished Sunday with my Son and he soundly beat me 8 Pike to 2 but all were small and today I blanked. Hurry up October I can not wait

well done Psion, youve had more luck than me. Ive had 5 sessions for the Trout and sometimes Pike dont know I am not after them and I catch a few, Two 2lb jacks is all ive had and a load of Perch. One solitary Trout. Roll on October

I think I will be concentrating on my Barbel fishing now till September.

When are we all starting piking again. I will be out in September. Who will get the first twenty this year.

It's too hot for pike
They don't bite and I hate putting them thru it with low oxygen levels
So for now it's perch and zander on the dropshot

But these were of impresive size and at least 3 pounds
They could have eaten the smallest perch I caught easily

Very pretty Perch, big too well done Dave. I am out after Perch next weekend as my Son is home and fancies his chances of knocking me off my perch lol. do you like what I did lol lol lol.

While I am at the play on words theme Did you know we still buy land in Ireland by, Acre, roods and Perch (plural perches). apparently a Perch is between 5.5 and 7yds long. Now thats a big Perch

I was out yesterday with a young lad who wanted to learn the art of lure fishing, like a real pro I took him under my wing and he beat me like a bad dog lol. 13-8 11-1 7 6 5 2. I had a 7 and a 2 plus four missed hits. Must try harder☺

I know just how you feel lowdouble , I,ve been showing 1 of my beachcasting mates the ropes with coarse fishing this summer and so far he,s had a 13-10 barbel [on his first ever riversesh] a 2-12 chub and a 6-3 bream , , and now he,s talking about trying pike fishing this winter , I think I might just conveniently lose my phone

I took a mate out Friday, his words were , " The student becomes the master ! " as he caught a 5 pounder first cast, a 7 a little later followed by a 14.14 while I sat run less. I even gave him a little pop up rig I had made for him to try , I didn't mean there and then , I meant some other time ! But as I was landing the 14.14 for him the red poly balls stood proud of the sardine in its mouth😀.
I suggested an afternoon venue for the way home , he was more than willing . So I sat and watched as he caught another lovely double and I just had to take it all in !!!! 😀😀😀
Just to top it off , I did a night session on the Trent on Sunday , blanked again !
